Product: Accessories for glass doors – hydraulic door closer
Varese Design Week is the event dedicated to lovers of design and art. It’s been four years now since it became the pulsating event of the city. The event – which is connected to the most important week, the Salone del Mobile in Milan – showcases major masters of Made in Varese and beyond, involving the sectors that have made the city great for many years. So, great exposure for historical, cultural, trendy realities. It’s a call for professionals in the sector, entrepreneurs, designers and scholars, with the aim of revitalizing the city through dedicated itineraries, meetings, guided tours and organized events.
In the 2017 edition, thanks to our accessories for glass doors, we contributed to the creation of the Glass Emotion Hall at the Estensi gardens.
Among the installations at the Varese Design Week 2017 there was the Glass Emotion Hall at the Estensi gardens: in the shape of a pyramid, made exclusively of glass by Torsellini vetro, it came to life with plays of light and evocative illuminations, to enhance the magical, visual performance of Walter Maffei, illusionist and artistic coordinator. Several artists joined the illusionist every evening, from different disciplines – music, dance, visual act, in a sort of contamination and artistic experimentation. The Biloba glass door accessory was installed on the entrance door of the glass-steel pyramid. The oleodynamic door closer needing no floor breakage, concentrating maximum functionality and beauty.
Colcom’s rich production certainly stands out for this oleodynamic system, applied to some of its accessories for glass doors. Biloba is a new concept oleodynamic door closer, conceived and created by the company’s Research & Development department and protected by an international patent. Ideal for supporting glass doors for both interiors and exteriors, allows automatic, constant and controlled door closing with adjustable speed, and represents the synthesis and evolution of traditional automatic hinges and traditional door closers.
